Tips to stay healthy on Diwali

The festival of light Diwali is round the corner and it becomes very difficult for people to maintain their diet and keep a check on their calorie intake during the festival. You cannot keep away from sweets and food full of calories during the festival of Diwali. In the fear of gaining weight, the health conscious people do not eat sweets or opt for rich and festive food items. Here we bring for you a few ways by which you can stay healthy and fit during the festivities.


OPT FOR SUGAR FREE SWEETS Want to cut down from your Diwali delicacy, opt for sugar free sweets. Make Diwali sweets and desserts using ingredients like low fat milk and sugar free products. But make sure you do not overeat.
 ROAST YOUR SNACKS Instead of deep frying, opt for roasting your snacks. Don't buy deep-fried samosas this Diwali choose roasted, baked or barbequed options.
 AVOID OILY FOOD No matter how tasty the food looks, just avoid or at least limit the intake of food which has too much oil, ghee or sugar. Look for rice based dishes like vegetable pulaos, and white meat biryanis.
